You want to play great sounding solos on your ukulele

My songs sound thin. I want to play something that is easy and full-sounding.
You’ve heard people take a solo during an instrumental break. You’ve heard the great ukulele artists play amazing solos on their ukuleles. You’ve even looked at some of that sheet music.
But it is so complicated you can’t figure it out. There are chords going up the neck and some really complicated right-hand rolls. While it sounds amazing, you want to start at an easier place and work up to it.
You’d like a new challenge.
You’ve gotten pretty good at ukulele. You can easily sing and strum songs with basic chords. You can play a melody tab that you see written out. Maybe you enjoy singing, maybe you don’t, but you don’t want to do it all the time. You’re a solid intermediate and you’d like to take your ukulele playing to the next level.
Is there easy full-sounding music for ukulele?
You’re looking for music where you get to use familiar chords. Where you don’t have to do a bunch of barre chords. Where you don’t have to move your hand up and down the neck and make wild contortions.
You want instruction on how to do these cool techniques.
You’re looking for material where someone will tell you what to do with your right-hand. When to strum. When to play with your thumb. And, when to fingerpick. You want music where someone explains how to do all these things. And, then demonstrates up close on a screen. And, then helps you see what these techniques look like in the sheet music. So that you can do it yourself!

Introducing the
Learn Easy Ukulele Chord Melody Course!
An online video course with a downloadable .pdf
Bring back the joy with easy and full-sounding music
To avoid feeling bored and bring joy back to your time with the ukulele, you need to play beautiful and sonorous music. That’s why we’ve developed this course. You’ll learn to play music that is rich and exciting. And if you’re at an intermediate level, it’s very doable to play melody and chords at the same time. This course has several songs that teach you to play chord melody.
What is Chord Melody?
Chord melody is the art of playing both the melody and the harmony at the same time in a ukulele arrangement. It sounds beautiful, full and rich.
What is melody?
Melody is what you sing, or notes that come one after the other. Melody is one note at a time.
What is harmony?
Harmony is everything else except the melody. It is the chords and the rhythmic back-up of the melody. You can think of it as the guitar, bass and drums in a rock band or the “ooo-s” the backup singers sing behind the lead singer. It is music that supports the melody. Ukulele chord melody is an arrangement of a song that combines both melody and harmony into one part.
In this course you’ll get:
A downloadable pdf with all the songs. The pdf includes:
- Instruction on how to read chord melody
- Instruction on how to play the songs for both your left and right hands
- A version of the song with only the melody
- A version with the chord melody written out in tab in an understandable format
- A chord glossary with pictures showing you how to form each chord with your left hand
- A glossary of musical terms so you can understand what we’re talking about without having to guess.

Does this course work for all types of ukuleles?
Some of you may have soprano ukuleles with a High G tuning. Some of you may have tenor or concert ukuleles with a Low G tuning. This course works for both tunings. Jenny teaches all the songs in both a High G and Low G format. She uses different size ukuleles to teach these different ways of playing the songs. Each song comes with both a High G and a Low G version of the song. There is even a set of introductory videos that explains and shows what all of this means.
Bonus introductory video section of the course

Sheet music as a “picture in picture” on the screen, so you can understand what the sheet music is asking you to do. You get a closeup of Jenny’s hands and the music at the same time, so it’s easy to figure out what to do.

The special way we write chord melody shows you when to play the melody with your thumb or fingers. The chords are either strummed or pinched. The chords with the squiggle are strummed. The chords with vertical notes are pinched. We explain all these techniques in the .pdf and in the “picture in picture” for each of the videos.

I really appreciated that there was a performance and a lesson video for each song in both High and Low G tuning. That’s the meat of what makes this a “course” and not just a singalong.
“Learn Easy Ukulele Chord Melody Today” is helping me to appreciate first-hand how fun and versatile the ukulele is even when played without singing.
This is a really good course and it helps me to understand music better, as well as improving my left and right hand co-ordination. I am able to play a lot better now.

This all sounds great, but…..Let me address some of your possible concerns:
- How hard are the songs? Will I be able to learn them?
- Can I play these songs with a “High G” ukulele?
- Will it be worth my time and money to work through this course?
- What if I’m over my head with these songs? Will I be able to get a refund?
How hard are the songs? Will I be able to learn them?
If you’re at an intermediate level, you can do this course.
If you’re comfortable playing the songs in our books, you’ll definitely be able to master the material in this course. That’s because this course is only a little harder than the songs in our books.
All the songs
- Are in the key of C, so they use the easiest and most familiar chords on the ukulele. (C, F, G, G7, Am, C7). Very few chords use your left-hand pinky.
- Stay below the 8th fret, so you don’t have to do too many chords up the neck. The three chords that are up higher are clearly explained and shown in the videos and in the 3 FREE Goodies. There is “picture in picture” instruction in the video lessons that shows you how to play these chords.
And all the right-hand techniques are clearly explained. Here’s a list of the right hand skills you’ll be learning:
- Strumming chords
- Pinching chords
- Thumb melody
- Fingerpicked melody
- Fingerpicked accompaniment
Because we keep the chords simple and the songs familiar, you’ll learn these cool new techniques easily. You’ll find that you will be able to work through all this music step by step

Here’s an image showing some of the different kinds of techniques you’ll use. And, you can see how we write them out.

If you have a “High G” ukulele you can do this course.
Yes. Jenny teaches the songs in both “Low G” and “High G” format. If you’ve been thinking about switching to one or the other, you’ll learn how to do that too. You’ll know more about this fascinating term that everyone talks about but nobody explains!

What exactly is chord melody?
What is melody? Melody is what you sing, or notes that come one after another. Melody is one note at a time, as opposed to a chord which is many notes played at the same time.
What is accompaniment? The accompaniment is everything else except the melody. You can think of it as the guitar, bass and drums in a rock band or the “ooo-s” that back-up singers sing behind the lead singer. It is music that supports the melody. Often the accompaniment is strummed or finger-picked chords. It sounds best if the accompaniment is softer than the melody so that the melody can be heard clearly.
The art of chord melody is combining both chords and melody into a pleasing and complete-sounding arrangement that one person can play.
